Owner

Daniel Zeuli

As the current owner of the company, Daniel Zeuli is at the helm of infusing old-fashioned values with modern techniques.

Daniel spent most of his college years painting alongside his grandfather, Tom Zeuli, which provided a rich backdrop for his leadership at the company. His academic pursuits led him to a Business degree from UW-Eau Claire, which he completed in 2024.

Balancing his responsibilities, Daniel played for the UW-Eau Claire football team for four years with Joe while growing the business.

In his free time, Daniel indulges in golf, fishing, and traveling. 

Founder and Supervisior

Tom Zeuli

Tom Zeuli, the founder of Zeuli Paint, is now a consultant who occasionally participates in various jobs despite his retirement.

Having painted for the people of Hudson, WI, and its surrounding areas for over 40 years, his work goes beyond the company walls - Tom also served the city of Hudson as the Parks Director before his retirement and has been part of the Hudson Fire Department since 1978.

His deep reservoir of knowledge and his commitment to old-fashioned values have significantly shaped the company's ethos, an influence gratefully acknowledged by his grandson, Daniel.

An avid outdoorsman, Tom doesn't hang up his boots when off-duty; he's an enthusiastic cross-country skier and participates in the Birkebeiner every year. He also fishes and hunts whenever he can.

Production Manager

Joe Swanson

As the Production Manager, Joe Swanson is the link between customer visions and the final product. He handles production scheduling, customer liaison, and problem resolution with finesse, ensuring a seamless journey from concept to completion.

Joe is not just skilled at managing projects but also at crafting custom fishing rods, a passion that led him to establish his own company and where he spends a lot of his time when he's not working with Zeuli Paint.

He is a UW-Eau Claire alumnus with a business degree and was a tight end for the university's football team, where he achieved an all-conference award within the WIAC.

His multifaceted experience and the ability to maintain open communication lines with customers make him an invaluable asset to the team.

Color Consultant

Bernadette Scharpen

Hi, my name is Bernadette!

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the number of colors to choose from when looking to update your home? Do you ever choose a color, start painting, and realize it doesn’t always look the same in your home?  Are you tired of existing colors and spending days, months, and sometimes years trying to find the right one? 

I’ve learned that it’s not always easy for people to choose colors that have the right feeling for their home, in the existing light and ones that can be enjoyed for a long time. Meeting people and helping them with their homes has been a lifelong passion of mine. My background is Interior Design; I taught it for 10 years and worked for Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio and Dayton Hudson Design Studio. Rather than retire, The Color Matters LLC was created to make it possible for me to continue to help others and to do what I enjoy.  

The Color Matters subcontracts color and design services to Zeuli Painting,  Thanks to Zeuli, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people who send photos of their projects, share how they feel about the results and how much having help with color and design met to them. 

When working on a project, my process begins with listening and discovering what you like or don’t like and what you want your home to feel like.  Then, together, we apply the principles of design to create flow, harmony, and rhythm through the distribution of color, whether it be for an interior or exterior project. 

Making your home special is essential!  If the time allows, I will enjoy answering your accessory questions and discussing room arrangements or flooring ideas. If you tell me you learned something, the experience is even more special.

I look forward to meeting many more people and having opportunities to be helpful.
